Should all adverbs be banned? Walking around the city covered with billboards or watching TV full of persuasive broadcast one may not feel other way as just to agree. However I would not dare to ban all advertising. There are at least two major problems with doing so.
First of all, we must not forget about the positive role of advertising. One may not be aware, but advertisements really help us to save our time. This is mainly because of the fact that advertisements provide information and create trademarks which are, in order, one of the major feature taken into consideration by a consumer choosing a product. Using trademarks is the easiest and most efficient way to reduce our uncertainty about the product itself - its reliability, etc. With the trademark we know what can we expect about the product. The other fact is that the reality often contradicts the advertisement telecast stating product's unquestioned advantages.
The other important factor connected with advertisement is that it has become so widespread industry and so important part of a present economy that any attempt to cease its existence would bring more harm than the fact that today it is present in almost every part of our lives. In other words, from socio-economical point of view it is just not worth banning all advertisement.
Nevertheless, advertisements could be found very annoying and it is no wonder that many people would like to forbid it totally. Especially when our new, glimmering product turned out to be just totally unworthy bunch of wires with no particular usage.
